Want one, easy-to-follow approach for getting more organic traffic to your website in 2022?
Here's a step-by-step process you can follow.
Step 1 - Identify Key Topics
Start by listing key topics in your niche. For example, if you’re running a blog about golf, then key topics might be “golf swing tips”, “golf clubs”, “golf courses” etc. Think of these as post categories.
Step 2 - Identify Specific Searches (That Form The Basis Of Your Content)
Under each of these categories/topics, you want to identify long-tail keywords. These are specific, multi-word searches that people are making to find answers to questions or solutions to problems.
For example, taking “golf swing tips” we could come up with specific long-tail keywords like:
-How to improve golf swing
-What are the most common golf swing mistakes
-What are the 3 keys to the golf swing
In an ideal world you’d use a pro keyword research tool like Keyword Chef or Ahrefs to help make this process easier.
However, you can do a great job to start with nothing more than your own creativity/imagination, and using Google’s “People Also Asked” tool to help you build out your list.
Basically, each one of these specific long-tail keywords you find will become a content piece/article/post on your blog.

Step 3 - Create Content
Once you’ve built out a decent list of potential blog topics (I usually aim for 50 to start with) the fun part begins.
Now you need to create content that answers the questions and solves the problems you have identified.
For example, let’s say that you’ve found the specific keyword “What are the 3 keys to the golf swing?” - you would then write an article all about that topic.
You also want to learn the basics of on-page SEO to make your content creation more effective. But all the best SEO in the world can’t replace having no content … so the priority is to start building out those articles/posts.
Step 4 - Upload To Your Site
The next step is simple - start publishing the content on your site. Once again, it is beneficial here to have a good understanding of at least the basics of on-page SEO. You want to do as good a job as possible at optimising your blog posts for the keywords you are targeting.
Step 5 - Rinse & Repeat
You know the saying “Rome Wasn’t Built In A Day”? Well the same applies here.
You will need to consistently stick at this strategy for it to work.
For example, you might release your first batch of articles on your site - but you need to keep pumping out more content, targeting more keywords.
Over time you will see nice organic traffic growth as you start ranking for more long-tail keywords.
I am yet to see this method fail to work in any niche/industry where I've seen it done properly. However, you must be diligent and consistent … or else you won’t see the level of success you might be expecting.
