There are loads of different ways to get more traffic to a blog. However, I’m going to focus on a strategy/tactic that has worked well for me for a number of years.
Assuming you’ve already got a niche picked and a blog set up, here’s what I do:
- Research keywords that people are searching in your niche. I use Answer The Public + Keywords Everywhere Chrome extension to achieve this. Look at search volume, competition etc.
- Create content that answers your audience questions, featuring the keywords you’ve researched.
- Keep writing more - adding value to your niche. Don’t just do 500 word “articles” that are written for their own sake. Add value, genuinely solve problems.
You’ll start picking up rankings and traffic, growing through a “long tail approach”.
This won’t happen overnight, but you will start to grow.
This is the strategy I’ve used to grow up a number of blogs. It’s currently working very well for my product reviews site, Reviews Boss - my traffic has grown month on month with no active link building.
