Understand What’s Happening With Your SEO

Perhaps your website has lost traffic following a redesign or platform change.

Maybe you’ve been paying for SEO for months, but you’re struggling to see what has actually improved.

Or perhaps your rankings and traffic look reasonable, yet the website isn’t generating the enquiries or sales you expected.

An independent SEO audit helps you understand what is happening and what you can do about it.

I review your website, available search data and current approach to identify the problems and opportunities that matter to your business. You get an explanation of the findings and a prioritised plan you can act on.

Put The Findings In Context

Which SEO Issues Actually Matter?

SEO tools can produce an impressive number of warnings. Deciding which ones deserve your attention takes more work.

An issue affecting an important service page could be costing you valuable enquiries. Another warning might relate to a page that has no meaningful role in attracting customers.

Equally, an increase in traffic can look encouraging while doing very little for the business. It matters who is finding you, what they are searching for, and whether your website gives them a useful next step.

My audit focuses on interpreting the evidence, explaining the likely commercial implications, and helping you decide where to spend your time and budget.

An Honest Assessment

Independent Of Your Current SEO Provider

Because this is a paid, standalone service, I don’t need to find fault with your existing provider to justify an ongoing management fee.

If the work being done is sensible, I’ll say so. If there are significant gaps, I’ll explain them. If the available data doesn’t support a firm conclusion, I’ll make that clear as well.

You can use the findings to brief your current agency, guide your internal team, or engage another specialist. Further work with me is optional.

What’s Involved?

The scope depends on your website and the questions you want answered. Areas I can review include:

Organic Search Performance

Using Google Search Console, analytics and other relevant information, I assess which pages and searches are driving visibility and traffic, how performance has changed, and where there may be missed opportunities. Where the data allows, I also examine how organic traffic contributes to enquiries or sales.

Technical Foundations

I check for issues that may prevent search engines from finding, indexing or correctly interpreting important pages. Depending on the site, this can include redirects, canonical tags, internal linking, mobile usability and regional targeting.

Content And Search Intent

I review whether your important pages address what prospective customers are looking for. This includes gaps in service or product content, competing pages, weak page structure, and opportunities to improve useful existing content.

Website Changes And Lost Visibility

If performance has declined after a rebuild, migration or content change, I investigate what changed. That might include removed pages, lost content, changed URLs or redirect problems, using historical information where it is available.

Current SEO Activity

If you are paying for ongoing SEO, I can review the agreed scope, reported activity and available evidence of the work. This helps establish whether the effort is directed towards meaningful priorities and what questions you should put to your provider.

What Do You Receive?

You receive a written assessment explaining the findings, supporting evidence and recommended actions in priority order. We agree at the outset whether you also want a debrief meeting to work through the report.

The aim is to leave you knowing what needs fixing, what is worth improving, and what can reasonably wait. Where implementation requires a developer or another specialist, I’ll identify that requirement.

Who Is This For?

This service is particularly useful if you:

  • Have lost organic traffic or enquiries and want to understand why.
  • Have recently changed your website or are planning a rebuild.
  • Want an independent view of the SEO work you are paying for.
  • Need to decide which SEO improvements deserve budget.
  • Have inherited a website and need a clearer starting point.
